P a s t o r N e w t o n K i n g Pastor Newton was installed as the senior pastor of the Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist church on August 7, 2010. He is a native of Trinidad and Tobago and a product of Adventist Christian education from elementary school to university. He graduated from the University of Southern Caribbean in Trinidad with a Bachelors in Theology and subsequently graduated from Andrews University Berrien Springs, Michigan and Western Michigan University with Masters in Religion and Psychology, respectively. He has pastored for 28 years both in the South Caribbean Conference and in Orlando, Florida where the Lord has blessed his ministry in numerous ways. He has also practiced psychology with the State of Michigan for 8 years. Newton King has been married for 32 yrs to the former Syllette Billingy who is a physician specialized in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. They have two children a daughter, Hersha who is now deceased and a son Newton Jr. Pastor King has teamed up with his wife in presenting marriage and family seminars as well as youth empowerment programs. But their number one passion is leading souls to Christ and teaching others to do so. They are strong supporters of Christian education. They love the Lord and look forward to his soon return. The Kings enjoy outdoor activities- swimming, cycling, hiking, walking and also international travel. The Maranatha church family welcomes Pastor and Dr. King. Together, under God’s leadership we look forward with confidence to the future as we seek to share God’s love with others. |

P a s t o r G e r v o n G a r c i a M a r s h Gervon Garcia Marsh is a native of Jamaica and a product of Adventist Christian Education. He has been a Pastor with the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 2003 and has worked in the Inter-American Division – Specifically Jamaica in the North Jamaica Conference – and in the North American Division in the Florida Conference. His most recent assignments in the Florida Conference include Pastor of the Homestead SDA Church, Homestead Florida, and presently Associate and Youth Pastor of the Maranatha SDA in Miami Gardens Florida. His integral involvement in Evangelism and Youth ministry has resulted in leading many to have a saving relationship with Christ Jesus. Pastor Marsh holds a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) in religion and theology with concentration in Pastoral Ministry from Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville Jamaica, and is currently pursuing his Masters of Arts (M.A.). His guiding philosophies for life are, firstly, Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ…” and secondly, “Constancy of mind, consistency of purpose, and the grand simplicity of decision shall rule and guide the conduct” (Lord Chesterfield). |
